Rectron has released the Epson Stylus Photo TX800FW, a high–definition, “four–in–one” with fax, automatic document feeder and WiFi, which prints photographs of a quality the company claims will be better than those printed by a professional laboratory.

"This printer offers excellent print quality, with prints that are guaranteed to last up to 200 years in an album or 98 years in a photo frame,” says Heinrich Pretorius, Epson product manager at Rectron.
And – since it uses individual ink cartridges – you only need replace the colour you use.
According to Pretorius, Epson ClariaPhotographic Ink is a “Hi–Definition”, dye–based ink deigned to print “better–than–lab–quality photos”. And it comes with individual ink cartridges so users only replace the colour they use.
“Besides superior–quality photographs, the new Epson Stylus Photo TX800FW prints on CDs and DVDs; and also does standard prints, scans, copies and faxes. Besides black–and–white faxing, full colour fax is also supported,” he adds.
“Besides an automatic document feeder for making copies with ease, the printer prints super-fast, with 40 pages per minute whether black or in full colour – and it can print a 10x15 photo in about 10 seconds.”
Copy speeds on the A4 flatbed colour image scanner can go as high as 39 pages per minute. With WiFi support, the Epson Stylus Photo TX800FW, can be connected to a wireless network, and can print or scans from any location on the wireless network. Wired networking is also provided via full Ethernet functionality.
For simplified functionality, the Epson Stylus Photo TX800FW features an integrated 19,8cm LCD touch panel.
“A wide variety of memory cards are supported,” says Pretorius. “Simply pop in your SD Card –– or any other supported cards –– view your photographs on the LCD viewer, and print the photos you want with ease.”
Photo–editing features using the LCD viewer include PhotoEnhance and Red–eye Removal.
Besides SD cards, the Epson Stylus Photo TX800FW supports more than 20 other standard flash memory formats, ranging from compact flash and MicroDrive to memory stick and memory stick duo, as well as SDHC, MiniSD, MiniSDHC, MicroSD, MicroSDHC, and  MMCmicro.
“The Epson Stylus Photo TX800FW also provides full PictBridge support; all you need do is plug in a camera in the PictBridge slot, view your photos and print them with ease,” says Pretorius.
Additional software includes Epson Event Manager, Epson Web–To–Page, Epson Easy Photo Print, Epson Print CD, Epson Net EasyInstall, and ABBYY FineReader Sprint Plus (PC).
