The news that Ingram Micro's chief financial officer Craig Turnbull has resigned - coming less than two weeks after CEO Hansie Fourie's resignation - should not be construed as a management exodus.
This is the word from Fourie, who tells IT-Online that nothing sinister should be read into Turnbull's exit. "There is nothing to be concerned about," he says. "We are not downsizing the company." Fourie adds that Ingram Micro hasn't reduced the number of vendors for whom it distributes products, and "our vendors are all very happy with us". During the last few weeks, Ingram Micro has been in the spotlight, with MB Technologies having received the green light to buy out international distributor Ingram Micro's share of the company. The local distributor is to be renamed Platinum Micro and Fourie says this process is underway. "As soon as the registration of the new name is completed, we will start a rebranding exercise," he says. "In the meantime, it is business as usual." Turnbull has resigned, and will work his notice, leaving the company around the middle of August. |
