Using Computer Faire Africa as a focal point, Podium Vision and Voxsys, today announced the release of the Firestorm HD product family.
Firestorm HD is a suite of High Definition media products targeting vertical market, media service providers (MSP) and enterprises, that wish to use web communication and media. Firestorm includes a comprehensive range of modules aimed at satisfying the needs of vertical markets, initially hotel, and hospitals. These comprise media communication server, web phone and HD Set Top Box (STB). The solution provides a new offering that will allow hotels to astonish their clients. A Media Service Provider can use the scalable system to provide a similar hosted solution. What’s more, the MSP can provide Content & Delivery Networks to the Firestorm systems already installed by third-party specialist system integrators. The key benefits of the solution is the possibility for the user to communicate via the Firestorm web phone, see hotel/hospital/MDU services on the room TV and/or the Firestorm web phone, watch movies on demand from the Firestorm server, use the Firestorm STB to stream music and videos from their PCs, media players & the internet while in their room on to the room’s TV & sound system, connect their memory stick or other devices via the Firestorm STB; and even register their VoIP devices such as dual mode handsets if needed. Voxsys has teamed up with Podium Vision to provide global support, integration, training and customisation.
