A South African-designed and -manufactured notebook stand, Ergo-Tilt, is making waves around the globe - and Computer Faire visitors can own one of these products for just R99.00 from the Ergo-Tilt stand.
A real success story, Ergo-Tilt came into being about 18 months ago - in fact, once of its first public appearances was at last year's Futurex show. Ergo-Tilt raise and tilts a notebook computer, making it easier to type and relieving many of the ailments associated with poor posture and bad typing habits. Shaun Matthews from Ergo-Tilt explains that the product came into being when it's inventor got tired or propping his notebook up on telephone directories and came up with an alernative. The Ergo-Tilt holds your notebook at a convenient angle, then folds flat so it can be easily carried - and, weighing just 400 grams, it's easy to carry as well. "It relieves the user of stress, carpal tunnel syndrome, neck and back pain," says Matthews. Ergo-Tilt has been growing steadily over the last year-and-a-half, with sales doubling just in the last six months. And now it's ready to spread its wings internationally. Ergo-Tilt will soon be available in the US, Canada, South America, Europe and India. And there are new products in the pipeline as well - a lap stand with built-in cushion and a wrist rest. |
